Using the Retirement Benefit Estimate Calculator
This easy-to-use calculator is designed to give you an estimate of what you may receive in retirement benefits. We hope that you will find this calculator a useful tool in your financial planning for retirement.
When using this calculator you will need to provide certain information. It is important to note that this estimate can only be as accurate as the information input To begin, you may want to refer to your most recent annual URS retirement statement (the blue and white statement sent the last week of March each year). There are also help links provided in the calculator such as a future salary estimator.
Each retirement system administered by URS has its own requirements and formulas. The calculator will offer visual clues as you work your way through the calculator. Remember, this calculator estimates your future benefit. To help you get an idea of what this future benefit will be worth in buying power today, you can click on the "Adjust for Inflation" button on the final page. The default rate has been set at 3%. This rate has been the historical average annual rate of inflation (since 1926). However, if you feel that inflation will average more or less than this rate, you can change this setting.
We are happy to provide this and other tools to help
you with your financial planning efforts. We also encourage you to take
advantage of our 401(k)/457
Future Values Calculator.
