Defined Benefit Retirement Plans

Utah Governors' and Legislators' Retirement Plan

The Utah Governors' and Legislators' Retirement Plan is a defined benefit retirement plan under Utah Retirement Systems (URS) intended to provide a meaningful retirement benefit to a governor or legislator. It is a qualified tax-deferred plan under Internal Revenue Code Section 401(a). The laws that govern this retirement system are set forth in Utah Code Title 49.
